20% of Virgin Atlantic Gatwick Passengers use Twil

Virgin Atlantic has hailed its Twilight Check In at Gatwick Airport a resounding success with passengers. Twilight Check In allows passengers to check in for their morning flight between midday and 9pm the day before at their leisure, enabling them to move quickly through the airport on the day of departure. Since the launch of Twilight Check In in 2000, the service has become increasingly popular with approximately 20% of passengers flying out of Gatwick now using the service every day.

Lynda Tatler, Airport Manager for Virgin Atlantic at Gatwick, commented:

'We are delighted with the success of Twilight Check In. As we approach the start of the school holidays, this is a great benefit to families and groups who would like to take the stress out of getting to the airport and checking in for an early morning flight by checking in the day before at their leisure.

'Following the success of Twilight Check In, the service has been extended to open from midday to 9pm the day before departure to meet demand. Passengers can avoid queues and check themselves and their baggage in quickly and easily. They can then go straight through to the departure area the next day with plenty of time to spare for last minute shopping.'

Virgin Atlantic operates services from Gatwick to Orlando, Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, Las Vegas, Grenada, Tobago, Cuba, The Bahamas and Port Harcourt.

In the Caribbean, 'Check In and Chill Out' is popular with passengers who can check in for their flight when checking out of their hotel. In Florida, Virgin Atlantic offers a check in facility in Downtown Disney enabling passengers to check themselves and their bags in at a kiosk on the day of departure and spend the last day of their holiday in the theme park, without having to rush back to the hotel.

We love the Twighlight check in - I always get in a panic that we will miss our flights and this service relives me of all that stress. Just wish they did it at Heathrow too as we are flying to San Francisco in October and I know I will get in a panic again!!

For those people travelling on BMI from Manchester to Washington or Chicago ,BMI now offer a twilight check in service between 19:00 and 22:00hrs at the bmi check-in desk 59 in Terminal 1.
We were not aware of this service last time we travelled but will be using it when we fly at Christmas.

We used the twilight check in. We would defiately say using that and the down town Disney check in was a bonus to the holiday. Only problem we had was getting to Gatwick along the M25 and M4. Both were horrible.[drinkpepsi][grouphug]

Sorry - do you mean that they do have Twilight Check-in at Manchester? I have used on-line check in previously because twilight wasn't available up north!
