    Thanks Bernie,

My main concern, however, is the pressure in the hold affecting the champers....I think I'll not risk it!!!

    Thanks anyway!!!

Yes ordinary bottles of spirits would fare better. The atmospheric pressure is less in the hold than in the cabin area and with the high pressure inside the champers bottle it may be enough to pop the cork. I wouldn't risk it. We even have had it sometimes with sun lotion or after shave where they have seeped out a little.

    Thanks everyone!!

I've decided that I'll have to let my shoulder take the strain.....I'd rather that than lose a good bottle of bubbly!!!

    Thanks again everyone!![clap][clap]

    Hi Phil & Mel,
We have brought champers back both from Spain and from Florida, middle of the suitcase, pack clothes all round and not had any problems, mind you we do have the solid cases, perhaps that helps.

You could always just buy one in the supermarket once you are out there and save yourself a whole lot of bother[msnwink][msnwink][msnwink]

That is another good point Val,

We too have the hard sided cases with a rubber seal, that may make the case airtight!!! Oh I just don't know!!!

I had decided, and now I'm not sure!!![msnscared][msnscared][msnscared]

That sounds like the best plan Phil, and what a good excuse to indulge in two bottles of champagne.[msnwink][msnsmile2]

We took four bottles in all home last week ,two were champagne as we had 3 family celebratons on holiday . I wrapped them very carefully in bubblewrap and towels (new ones from Ross) and even though our 8 cases were searched the drink came through perfectly safe , Ive wrapped them before so I guess I have developed the knack by now, Phil drink that bottle and buy some more in Florida after all you are on your holidays, have a good one .

We take a couple of bottles every trip and it has been safe in the hold and never popped as yet!
