Will keep an eye on this one to see how it develops.

Yeah I would not want to live in Dominican Republic, Haiti or Cuba.

The good news is that the latest predictions have moved the track well to the South and West and away from Florida. Bad news for other areas though.

It's worth pointing out to anyone visiting Orlando that generally things have eased off by the time any reach inland, and even if they do venture that far in mostly it's minor damage, roof tiles etc. which we have a lot of back home.
I'd rather be over there for the next few weeks or months than here going to work every day, regardless of the weather[msnsmile2]

Latest predictions are even further south and it's still a TS.

Now a Cat 2 Hurricane and NOAA expect it to strengthen. Current predicted path takes it South of Jamaica and no effect on Florida. Would not think Cancun is a place to visit this weekend!!

In a way its nice to see the storm going somewhere else..it may lift the feeling that all the storms are out to get FL.....

The NOAA 5am(EST) report has it at the top end of Cat 4 at 150mph, but forecast that it could develop into a Cat 5(>160mph)

It is forecast to come ashore just south of Cancun at 2am(EST) on Monday.

Several charter flights from UK to that area have been cancelled.
