I can recommend Wekiwa Springs State Park. We hired kayaks for a couple of hours and spent a great time spotting turtles and gators. There are other activities at the park. You can swim or snorkel in the waters of Wekiwa Springs or there is a hiking trail and there at a couple of campsites.

Florida can offer something for everyone - that's why I love it so much.

Mount Dora is beautiful, we loved wandering around the old shops, well worth a visit. While you are in the area can also recommend Blue Springs State Park, you can see Manatee here from November to March.
I loved Clearwater too, Sand Key has good parking and a nice picnic area, not as busy as the main beaches.

Sounds like I need to add Mount Dora & the boat trip at Winter Park to my list of things to do whilst in Florida, they both sound very interesting.[msnsmile2]
