The NHS spends about £12.69 per patient per week (£1.81 per day or about 60p per meal) on food and beverages so that might give you a clue?

BUPA made a £182.2 million surplus last year and Valerie Gooding, the chief executive of BUPA, has become the highest-paid woman executive in Britain. Gooding, 54, earned more than £1.4m in salary and bonus, accumulated a further £967,000 in an incentive plan and saw the value of her pension pot increase from £2.7m to £3.9m.

BMI healthcare say A wide variety of food is available and menus can be prepared to suit special dietary needs or particular preferences. And I know that you can usually order yourself a variety of upmarket food options, including wines, etc.

I don't think somehow that private healthcare food budget is a problem!
