    Suspect bombs in London!

I am so sorry for everyone living in London, a day after the great news of getting the 2012 games there have been reports of a number of bombs in London underground and buses. The reports are that at least 20 people could of been killed. May God bless all those and their families.

It is awful - you can't get hold of anyone to check how they are. My hubby just managed to get a message to me saying he's ok. It seems the Army have taken control of the situation now.
I hope everyone with friends and family there today manage to get the same reassurance soon.

On the BBC24 news the police have said that there has now been 6 explosions - 1 underground and 5 above ground. This is terrible news.

Cannot believe this is happening, especially after such good news yesterday.

Kevin's also stuck in the thick of it but thank God is fine, as is my son, Ian, who lives in East London, close to Stratford. Kevin was caught underground for about 20 minutes just outside Liverpool Street, which is where he would normally get off.

No tubes, no buses, taxis like gold dust - emergency vehicles all over the place.
No cars or any form of transport allowed into London, except push bikes.

Mobile phone networks are heavily overloaded, so getting through is extremely difficult.

A number of streets and areas have been cordoned off, so Kevin couldn't get to his office block. All buildings around the bombed areas have been evacuated. He's walking from the Liverpool Street area towards Marylebone in the hopes that eventually he'll be able to get back home when they allow provincial trains back into London. These trains are currently stopping well short of London or not coming at all.

When he gets closer he'll find a coffee shop or hotel and sit it out there until things are moving again.

My heart goes out to those who have been injured and killed in this barbaric attack. We were very lucky and I only had about 45 minutes of not being able to contact either Kevin or Ian. Knowing that both were in the trouble areas, and that I couldn't get hold of them, was horrendous.

Ian was able to walk back home to his flat and is staying put, so we just have to get Kevin home now.

Just had another call from Kevin. So many places are cordoned off that he can't get anywhere near to Marylebone. They are containing people where they are.

This Major Incident seems to be being handled extremely efficiently by all of those in charge of the various Emergency Services. Apparently they have planned extensively, just in case something like this ever happened.

Phil has been told to stay put until further notice and not make any attempt to leave - fortunately he went in early today as it's his birthday and he was hoping to get home early.

I hope Kevin manages to get home soon Carla.

I hope that you get Phil back tonight too Ana.

Ian has just called me. Kevin has abandoned the idea of getting anywhere near Marylebone and is now walking towards Ian's home and will stay the night with him. He's decided that that is his best option, if he can get there.
