    Another TIP

    Currency....
To get the best for your money be careful and selective.
    1. Shop about for the best rates if you like to bring cash or travellers checks.
    2. If you dont like carrying cash, then your credit card is a good way.But BEWARE...if you use your CC in an ATM you will get business rates, which is higer than tourist...BUT.. you will be charged for each transaction by your bank or CC company, so factor that in.
    3. Nationwide, are the only bank in the UK who do not charge to use the Overseas ATMs.

I always use credit cards, never take travelers cheque. normally they give you a good rate. Unless you draw money from cashpoint when they charge you.

Most credit cards companies charge a commision charge for every purchase made overseas and this can soon add up. Get a Nationwide card, no charges whatsoever on any purchases made. Check the back of your credit card statement and it will tell you how much your credit card company is charging on purchases overseas. Most of the major credit card companies charge an additional 2.75% on top of the cost of the item purchased.

We always use our Nationwide credit and debit cards when in Florida. Credit card for big purchases and debit card at the ATM`s. Great rate and no charges for using abroad.

That would depend on how much you intend to change.

We have noticed recently that some of the travel agents offer a much better rate when changing large amounts into $$$$$
