They have already had approx double the June average rainfall and there are still a couple of days left in the month.
Although the hurricane season starts on June 1st it is unusual for tropical storms(TS) to start that early; even last year - a bad year - the first TS didn't arrive until late July.
However TS Arlene came at the beginning of this month so let us hope that isn't a bad sign.

The normal pattern in summer is a heavy downpour in the afternoon, although a TS passing by Florida(on either side) can drop several inches of rain in a few hours.

Have just been looking at the 10 day weather and it looks OK to me. The temp is in the high 80s/low90s with 30% chance of thunder storms. This means that there is 70% chance you will not get a storm. At this time of year it normally starts with a super morning and early afternoon, with a storm at about 3.00pm. The storm only lasts for a while and then the sun comes back out, you get that lovely clean fresh smell and the rest of the day is glorious.
Use the storm time to do a bit of shopping or grab a meal. Believe me it will not ruin your holiday.[msncool]
    Enjoy!

Its not that uncommon for a storm like Arlene to happen so early...it does every few years......the wet very humid weather could keep the temp down this year so keep the storms off land.....the weather follows a pattern every 40 years.....the storms like we had last year have happened before.....but a lot of things have to be in place for them to go inland like they did last year ......all we can do is wait and see and not let it worry us till it happens.....[msnsmile]

We're also going out on Sat 2nd July. Where are you flying from, we're leaving from Glasgow at lunch time. Also had the same thoughts about the weather but what will be will be. It's great just to be going to the Sunshine State!!!

Five day forecast shows expected weather on Saturday and Sunday around 92F - sunny with some cloud. Possibly the odd thunderstorm, but they usually dry up within half an hour or so! [msnsmile2]
Have a great time - (wish it was me going![msnsad])

we've been here sicne 18/9 and you're right the it's been worse than normal for this time of year. You myst still wear sun protection though as when it is sunny it is really hot. the usual afternoon build up has arrived every day but on more than half of the days we've been here it has not cleard up at all and it has continued to pour until late evening. Fortunately for us it hasn't spoilt our days and we haven't had to cut short any day in a park because of it (we've either been shopping or having a chill day at the villa when it has been at it's worst). I actually think it is a sign of the way forward for weather here in Florida and the weather over the rest of the globe and the weather that we have been used to in the past is now long gone.

Don't let this put you off, just get up early and try to do as much as you can before 3pm!!

    Enjoy it whatever you do.

We were ther for 17 days in Jone and the weather was great. Yes it did rain a little some days, a lot a couple of days but there was still many days it did not rain at all. Every day was very hot and humid and I had high factor on every day. Most of us burned a little! I would not always believe the forcast. Most of the rain we got was v heavy but did not last long. It made no impact on our holiday at all so you will be fine!

It has been raining on and off daily but the sun does shine most of the day, so bring that sun tan lotion!
