    Roadworks on I-4

Just got back from our holiday and just thought I would let you all know that if you are staying in the cr54 or champions gate area (exit 58)beware of all the roadworks on the I-4 especially late at night. We got caught up in the queues a couple of times and it took us over an hour to get back from Downtown Disney.
We stayed at Bridgewater crossing and found the quickest way from disney was via highway 192 then turning left onto Old Lake Wilson Road which takes you over the I-4 to a junction were you can turn right towards champions gate or straight on towards ronald reagan parkway ( where bridgewater and various other communities are situated).
Hope this helps people avoid being stuck in traffic.
    Cheers,
    Andy

    Andy is right.

It also works the other way if traffic is stationary towards Orlando, take the Old lake wilson road, but cross 192 and enter Disney via the backdoor (Animal Kingdom)

Thankfully the I-4 roadworks are nearly over, it is just the new Beltway extension junction with I-4 to be built - mainly at night

Used this route almost exclusively in November 2004 after getting caught in those same roadworks the first couple of days.

A nice drive and a little more relaxing than the I-4.

I'll echo that Andy , just got back myself. It took exactly 20 mins in the morning to get from the villa to the ticket booth in Universal car park, and an hour and a half to get home. [msnsad] we used i4 both ways so the time is a factor.
    ps
we were just aroud the corner from you at Town Center

It was a bit like organised chaos when we were there in March, as you said Andy - especially late at night.Glad to hear the 3 lanes are now open. Good news for us as we will be there aagain at the end of July. [clap]
