gps maps for Orlando disney area

    Hi everyone

Can anyone advise if you can buy orlando maps for a gps system that we already have rather than hiring one from uscarhire with whom we have booked a car through dollar.

Any comments would be gratefully received

    thanks Rebekah and Kevin

What system do you have? I have purchased maps for Navman before but you have to buy the maps for the entire USA. If memory serves it cost $200.00. And worked very well. I don't use it any more as I upgraded to a dedicated GPS system by Magellan. Comp USA have varied range of maps and GPS devices. Give their website a try. I think it is compusa.com or try navman.com

I would think you can, although I had a lot trouble with the Garmin system.
It is worth keeping in mind that the ones we hire are touch screen. All parks, popular shopping places etc etc are already programmed in. We even program in your hotel or villa. If you want to get back from anywhere simply tap 'home' on the screen and away you go. If you want to go to any parks simply tap 'navigate to' and then pick from the list by name. You do not have to enter in addresses (unless you want to). Its a very easy sytem to use.

Morecomputers charge £122 for the US maps.

    The Navman site want £149.

Don't forget you will also have to buy an addtional memory card.

We used to rent the ones from the care hire company, but once we bought our house we decided to get one, we got a Navman. They were £990.00 in the UK; we got the same one on eBay for $630.00, and had it delivered to our MC, and then got the Uk maps £130.00 when we got back to the UK. Navman has great mapping software but the point of interest list is limited. You also have to have an idea where you are going as its taken us past Beltz on the freeway several times. Computers don’t you just love them!
