Gerry, if you have never taken the children before then you may not believe me when I say, it doesn't matter how fussy they are , there will be lots of thing which they like. There is such an abundance of food of every type and such a willingness on the part of resatarants over there to help, thye will be fine.
Gerry I have found another link on same topic can be seen on

If you try some of the all you can eat buffets then I'm sure you will find plenty the children will eat, Golden Corral do fresh baked pizzas to steak for instance and because the children can go and choose as they want they can try a bit of each.
My guests at present have found the buffets cater really well for the 2 children in their party an 11 year old diabetic boy and a very fussy 9 year old girl but who they said has not stopped eating siince they got there but at home it is a struggle to get her to eat much at all.
We have taken
Crisps (Tayto for the irish folk)
Cereal out of its cardboard box (because my sister swears it taste different!!)
Bread, (two or three loaves which are frozen on arrival, becuse my mother says US ones are too sweet)
Tea bags (again cause Mother says its different)
Cadburys Chocs (just for the hell of it)
Once its not meat or dairy products we have not been stopped, we were asked by costoms once if we had food and we said "yea crisps" after a funny look, I said like potatoe chips! not problems!

As others have said, I very much doubt that you will have any problems finding suitable food for the children in the U.S.
The only problem we had with one of ours, several years ago, was that she refused to eat any meals out in restaurants. She was quite young at the time (about 5 or 6) and we couldn't understand what the problem was at first. We later discovered that she was put off by the quantities of food some people piled onto their plates!!
