Just ordered mine from Marks & Spencer, I always use them as they always give one of the best rates. Next day delivery to home address if ordered before 1pm and free delivery if you order over £500.00. The exchange rate today $1.773, you can buy online if you hold one of their credit cards, if not, you could go to one of their stores that has a bureaux and change money over the counter. If you have an M&S Chargecard or & More card you can order your money online with no cash transaction charges and you do not actually pay anything until you get the credit card bill which sometimes can be up to 55 days. They are the only company that give you, what in theory is a cash advance free of charges. If you want to use a credit card abroad and haven't already got one, then I suggest a Nationwide card as they are the only credit card company that do not apply any transactions/conversion charges on purchases abroad. I have a Nationwide FlexAccount and this allows you to make cash withdrawals worldwide from ATMs free of charges, I think they are the only bank that doesn't charge when making cash withdrawals overseas.

It's often better if you just bring your card here and use the cash point machines. Make sure it has an international symbol on the back like Cirrus or Visa and you're away. I found that better in the past. Also the hotels at Gatwick do good rates. I went to Le Meridien and got good rates on some small monies I needed before I left to tide me over. Check though
We have used Marks & Spencers in the past, they ar usually pretty competitive.[msnsmile]

I agree with the rest above. I got some dollars last month and tried just about every bank and web site I could find and M&S were definitely the best, by a surprising margin. Only problem is you need to use an M&S card. I charged them to my card and made a bank transfer straight away to clear it, so I shouldn't have any interest charges.
I think I got them at 1.81 and the best available elsewhere was 1.78 or so.

Marks and sparks or the post office. Having said that got a good rate to Europe from Going places the other week. Best to shop about.
We use the post office, although you have to change in cash we tend to find that they are very competative on exchange rates. If your happy to take a wad of cash to Florida then this may be an alternative option for you.
