Does anyone know if the new hand held playstation console is for sale in Orlando yet and if it's cheaper than buying here when it comes out in the next few weeks.

It was on sale when we were out in April. The daughter's boyfriend bought one and was well chuffed with his purchase. It was cheaper than the proposed price when it was due for release in the uk.
We also saw them for sale in April at the Toys R Us by the Florida Mall.

Is there an issue with playing US games on them? Like the US playstation will not play UK games unless you have it chipped.

Apparantly not! I have spoken a to couple of guys who have them and both say that the games play fine, not sure about the films though.
Argos have them on sale at the moment for pre-orders for 1st Sept £179.99 plus you get £100 of games vouchers as well!
My son tells me that the date was put back here until September because they sold better in the US than expected and so the ones destined for the UK were sent to the US instead.
We had one ordered for May but then got a letter apologising and said it would be September!!

My husband bought a PSP when we were over in May. He's so made up with it.
It will play games both from the US and the UK.
If you want to play DVD's then only the US ones can be used. He doesn't think you can chip it, but someone else might know more than he does.
He did say that if you want to use it for photos and MP3, then you should get a bigger memory for it. You don't need to use the Sony one, he recommended a "Memory stick pro duo".
Finally, all the add ons are far cheaper in the US than he's seen in the UK. Weird, as the PSP itself I don't believe is due for release until September, but you can buy the bits for it already!

My hubby bought one back from the Us for our son on his last trip for work. We bought him a sony memory stick pro duo and he downloaded a music video from the internet. He is well chuffed with it and we are assured he will be able to use both US and Uk games on it. He can't wait for his dad to go back next week and get him another gae, he has been saving all his money up.[msnsmile]

Thats very true, he paid for the PSP with money he had from Christmas and his birthday. He had one on order from here but when they put the date back he decided he couldn't wait any longer.[msnsmile2]
