My Faves are Universal & IOA - Universal for a nice easy day & IOA for the Coasters.

We used to fill most of our time in Orlando with Disney, but have eased off in the last year and started to enjoy everything else on offer. We will probably do Disney at Christmas when we take the in-laws with us

I have never been "into" theme parks or fair grounds so the first time we went to Florida we planned to visit Disney "for the children" and then visit the Gulf coast beaches for Mum. We never got as far as the Gulf coast on that visit and we have been back to Florida and visited Disney every year since (our fist visit was 1993!).
I must admit we now tend to do just 1 day each visit usually going to Animal Kingdom in the morning, MGM or Magic Kingdom in the afternoon and then Epcot or Magic Kingdom in the evening picking out our favorite attractions in each park and then watching fireworks to finish off the day. You are never too old for Disney although I do admit there is a period, mid-late teens early twenties, when the kids preferred Universal and Islands of adventure. We have now discovered lots of other things to do in Florida but we still make time for Mickey and friends.[8D]

There, I've admitted it in public so to speak.

Me and my family have been to Florida on a regular basis for years, yet we have never been to Disneyworld. The first year we went the kids said they were a bit 'old' for Disney (street cred and all that). Ever since then we have always been doing other things. Next time we go though we have made a promise to ourselves that we will go and check it out.

It always gets a surprised reaction if I mention it to friends and family. Is there anywhere in Orlando that you mean to visit and dont??

Julie you sound like me, first visit was 1993 went for the children as I don't like noisy theme parks. This year will be our 10th visit to florida and go to disney every time, can't get enough of it, I am well and truly hooked. Not long to go now Aug 6th[msnsmile2][clap][clap][clap]

Oh Pamala..I'm jealous.....I'm going to go at Thanksgiving.......no matter what......I don't know what hubby has against the place......he's never very happy that I like playing with snakes and crawling things....I must own up to being a bit more careful after being bite by my friends snake....nasty little thing....until then I never had much fear of them.....I'd been handling snakes of all kinds from around 8 years old.....its funny how things can change I think twice about handling snakes now.......

We have been visiting Orlando for the past 15 years from when our youngest daughter was only 5 and we all love Disney! It just wouldn't be the same without our visits to the parks. We always buy an Annual Pass so we can pop in and out whenever we feel like it and if the parks are busy we look around the Disney hotels, lie on their beaches, have a boat ride, hire bikes, the list is endless.

Speaking as a Mum, I will always vote for a trip to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. I make sure the kids wear a watch each and return to 'base' for regular sun cream & drinks, then I paste myself to that lounger & pick up my book.........bliss!
