Good overnight stopover at Orlando International?

Can you experts recommend an Orlando International Airport hotel for a 1 night stopover? Restaurants and facilities aren't important because I will only be in the hotel for about 12 hours and flying on the next morning. A complimentary shuttle service would be useful.

The Hyatt Regency Airport looks good but seems a bit pricey for what I need.

    Thanks in anticipation.

If you wish I can send you a coupon book that will give you some ideas and rates

Personally,I would do a walk in and ask for their best last minute rate (then ask to see the room;if they refuse, there could be a good reason).Do not go to the chain with a number in its name!)

I've always wanted to stay at the Hyatt at the airport but never found a good enough excuse to do this so, if I can persuade you to stay there, you could check it out for me!

The Hyatt is fab, we have used it on a number of occassions, especially when arriving late. They do offer a number of discounts and we normally pay about $100 although this is a government rate.

Thanks for your replies - The Hyatt seems to be the one so I'll probably go with Heather's advice and try the 'walk-in' option. I'm sure I can find an alternative if it doesn't work out.

Ralph & Claire - I checked the government rate and you can make a good saving. Unfortunately I just don't qualify.

Blott - I'll let you know. If it's as good as I hope then I will insist on you trying it!! Is that a good enough excuse?

    Phil,
my God Parents stayed overnight at La Quinta, 0171 Airport North, 7160 N Frontage Rd, Orlando, Fl 32812. Phone: 407-240-5000. (La Quinta Inns & La Quinta Inn & Suites); said it was fine, good shuttle service, only a few minutes etc: Will DM you web site.
Virgin put us up at the Hyatt when a plane was delayed for 24 hours. For convenience it was excellent but I did find it a bit "tired."
I can recommend the restaurant on the hotel lobby floor for anyone who wants a proper sit down meal before flying rather than the food court. Prices werea lot cheaper than i was expecting and the food good.
Hope this helps; personally i would go for the Hyatt as it is on site.

the hyatt for me stayed there several times over the years and it is very nice they do great room service and also a day rate so before we owned our villa and had to be out early we used to check in there take a room for the day they have a roof top swimming pool which is very nice we would check our bags in at the airport then go and relax at the pool before we had to go for the plane
we just kept a small bag to carry on
i do remember wearing an all in one suit and poured boiling coffee all down me sent for the laundry guy to dry it off as we did not have long till the plane by then he came back and it had been washed and steamed as the instructions said do not tumble dry i had to put it on very damp and spent the most uncomfortable flight home so the moral of this story is if you pur coffee over your self just leave it it will dry in hope you enjoy the hyatt as much as we always did
