    Arthur's 27

We have been doing a bit of searching for a nice restaurant to take our inlaws to in November.

I have read to excellent reviews on Arthur's 27.

As anyone been and what are your views on it?

Your help is needed and much appreciated!

For nearly 20 years Arthur's 27 has been rated one of the most romantic restaurants in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Enjoy continental cuisine and panoramic views of firework displays and Downtown Disney. Arthur's 27 restaurant offers unparalleled service and dining experience. Evening or business attire suggested: jackets and ties are optional. Reservations required.

It may be a little fancy for us yorkshire folk!!

It's in the Wyndahm. Victoria and Alberts gets a much better right up though. Dux in the Peabody is another posh one, or what about Gaylord Palms or the Renaissance? They do posh different in Florida but V & As comes close to what we know as posh. There are loads of nice places to eat without going to the top end of the dining experience. Is it for a special ocassion?

Sorry I have never heard of Arthur's 27, but a good restaurant to take the in-laws is Emerils situated Universal City Walk, you can even book on their website www.emerils.com before you go on holiday, recommended as they are always very busy
Feeling very hungry could just eat an Outback steak or a nice fish dish from Bahamma Breeze....roll on September.

I have been to Arthurs a couple of times. It was excellent both times. The last time was anumber of years ago but no reason to expect that it has changed.

we are booked in for July 23rd so if you DM me after we return I will let you know how we found it.

We regularly eat at good reastaurants in the UK , such as The Ivy(London),Sharrow Bay, Millerhowe and The Samling (Lake District)with friends and one of this group has reccommended Arthurs 27 so we are expecting good things.

The other reccomendation was for the restaurant in the Marriot in Orlando ,Primo...both of these came reccommended more highly by our friends than V&A where they have also dined.

As my waistline will evidence, I enjoy good restaurants and have dined at all the above UK venues except the Ivy. I have also spent lots of money on 'fine dining' in the US but have very often been dissapointed.

Inevitably, reviews are based on American food tastes which do seem very different from our own (no offence to US forum members intended). Other than in New York and 1 notable exception in Virginia, I have never found a US restaurant that matches the best UK ones for food.

We too found that last year we were very disappointed with the standard of the Disney 5* hotel dining experience. An expat living in the area said that they are all Disneyfied so are not true measures of 5* dining and we found this to be true.
We found the standard on the Gulf better but still no where near the european gourmet dinng standard.
Katy's Grandad .....Which is the best UK restaurant you have visited?
My waistline has also suffeed but am now back in trim thanks to WW!! shame about my other half though![msnsmile2]
