Story on CNN regarding a young man entering the US from Canada.
Unreal that they just confiscated his bloodstained Sword, Knife and Chainsaw and allowed him into the country no questions asked!

Well, he is apparently a naturalised American so I guess they didn't have much choice but to let him in!
blott
I know, but the border control people must be prety lax on both sides of that border. he was due in court that day, so was already a known felon and they didn't think it odd that he had an axe, a chainsaw, a knife!!!!!!
now had it been knitting needles or a nail file in his hand luggage it probably would have been viewed differently!
Just because he is a naturalised American I still cannot see why they would let him in.
There are many people in this country with British passports, but it doesn't mean they are not terrorists.

Letting him in isn't really the issue for me.
The issue for me is that they did not appear to check his name against the Canadian authorities computers to see if there were outstanding warrants etc, which seeing as he was running away from both his recent crime and a court appearence that very day, seems lax in the extreme.
Also by saying they had no alternative but to let him into his own country makes it sound as if only non US citizens need be treated with suspicion when trying to cross a US border armed to the teeth with offensive weapons.
