    cash again!! sorry!!

hi, I am just trying to get totally sorted now for our holiday, everything paid for now except flex tickets ( is the link on this site a good one to use). my question about money is 2 adults and 3 kids 12 ,13 and 15 how much ready cash can i reasonably expect to need for the 2 weeks?, I was reckoning on taking 1000 dollars cash + 1500 dollars travellers cheques and if neccessary using our debit /credit cards if needed at the end of the hols (extra shopping!!). am i being realistic or even maybe too much so. Sorry to post such a familiar thread but I just like to be sure.

Yes this site offer some of the best deals on tickets .

As for your spendning money, thats always a hard one to think about, as long as you
have a debit type card then if you are running low you can always use that. We always
take our ATM card away as well

I think it will depend on how much you spend on "extras", and how much you plan to eat out. $2500 seems like it should be enough, though. Just take your credit/debit cards as back-up!

Got back a couple of weeks ago, we stayed in Universal royal pacific for 1 week and villa for next, universal expensive eating and ate out every night for 2 weeks. Tickets bought were MGM (at the door) magical kingdom (at the door) and Typhoon lagoon (at the door) Bought all the usual ice creams pressies for the Kids. 3 kids 12 12 11 and me and my hubby went with £2800 in travellers cheques and came back with £500!! no credit cards used etc and like i say earlier were eating at expensive restaurants and not skimping on anything. not bad eh!

Obviously you guys know your budget, but we have never taken more than about $200 dollars in cash in 10 years. Admitedly, we have only travelled with a max of 2 kids, but we have never taken travellers cheques either! You can use a credit card for just about anything, even small purchases so I would limit the amount of ready cash you take. In recent years We have used our debit cards and actually found that the exchange rate(which is good at the moment anyway), is even better. Think of what you might need cash for, ice creams on the move? Just about everything else can go on a credit card. Safer too.
All the best! Have a good one!

Thanks to all for some pretty good info, seems like it is all down to personal preference as to how to take your money. Cash/tr-cheques / debit/credit cards. the 2 points which strike me are the exchange rate is pretty good at the moment 1.75 i think so it looks a good idea to get them now. If i just use my debit or credit card over in Orlando in september the rate could be lower plus there will be the usual charge for the conversion from the atm. thanks again to all

If you get a nationwide debit/atm card, there are no charges at all
