everglades

hi can anyone advise on how long it takes from wdw to the everglades,would it be worth a visit. we are going to miami so would it be best to do it that end.thanks

It is better to visit the Everglades from Miami. Make sure you have plenty of insect repellant. Its a great trip but you do need to be prepared.

Go there from Miami. It's very close and an easy day trip. Take an airboat trip; very enjoyable. Don't do the Mikosuki Indian Village - it's rubbish and full of tat. (Unless it's changed since I was there about 5 years ago). The Everglades are wonderful for undisturbed wildlife and a very different experience. You'll really enjoy it!

Definitely go from Miami it is much closer, it is well worth the trip but yes use plenty of insect repellant.

We sometimes stay at Marco Island and you go across Florida through the Everglades. It takes ust under 2 hours to drive across, so the Everglades are much near to Miami and as everyone says worth a visit.

It can be much of a muchness, we drove through the Everglades on our way to Key West a couple of years back and it was pretty boring to look at, most exciting thing was a car chase where a car was rammed off he road, we stopped to help but the guy just said he was ok oh and a gator lying by the road...... saying that hoping to go there ourselves at the end of the month mainly because we keep promising ourselves the airboat ride. I have long trousers, long sleeved top and insect repellent packed
