iTunes version 4.8

Hoping that somebody out there can help me with this. I've used iTunes since Xmas to buy music but for the last couple of weeks every time I try and purchase at the music store is says I can't complete the transaction until I download version 4.8 of iTunes. This would be fine but I've done this about a dozen times now and I still keep getting the same message.

I've tried e-mailing Apple but after 3 attempts with no response have now given up.

If nobody knows how to sort this out I will have to go back to buying CDs!!!

When you are in iTunes what version does it report when you look at the About box (use the About option on the Help menu).

just checked mine , it needed upgrading, it seemed to do it ok

now reading have version 4.8

I have 4.7 for Mac. I just bought a song and it worked fine.
Must be a Windows thing.

It says I've still got 4.6. Now very confused as I've downloaded 4.8 about a dozen times so it obviously isn't working!
