I've used it to keep in contact with the family when I have been over on my own on a villa maintenance trip. We just use MSN Messenger at both ends of the connection and use the webcam facilities in this. It works really well and is nice to see the family when I am here on my own.

We do the same as John and just use MSN these days, but we used to have a webpage set up and used a prog written by a friend.

We used streaming vid very successfully between family here, in Scotland, Aus and the US, and because we all had webcams running with the same set up we could all see each other in different remote windows simultaneously. It was great for family things like birthdays and when our grand kids were born we could show them off to family round the world [msnsmile]

We used to do this when Andrew was at University of Miami last year. It was great to be able to keep in touch with him and see that he was okay at the same time. Not sure he always agreed though! We used both AIM and MSN.

Hubby and I use ichat on the Apple Macs as it has sound too!!!! Its just like he is in the same room!! It has worked great when he has been in Chicago, New York, Europe and Asia.

But for my Mum and Dad who just have a PC I use Yahoo or MSM messenger.[msnwink]
