Baseball game?

Hi all. Has anyone ever been to a Baseball game in Florida before?
We will be flying to Orlando on the 22nd of July for a fortnight, and in that time I'd love to take my son to a Baseball game. Does anyone know where I'd get information on game dates/ticket prices?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Hi Adam, we're heading out at about the same time and are hoping to catch a game.

We were thinking of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. They're playing a few games during the time you're there and it should only take about an hour to get to St Petersburg (tropicana stadium) from Orlando. Check out the Devil Rays website for details and you can buy tickets online there too. I've not posted the address as links sometimes don't show up.

They play the Boston Red Sox on the 25th 26th and 27th July

Just been over to the website and the 25th is looking good. Do you think we would be able to purchase the tickets on the actual day of the game, or a few days before when we arrive in the US? I'd much prefer to buy the tickets in person than over the net.

Hi Adam

We went to Disney Wide World of Sports Complex to watch some baseball,we were quite fortunate to spot that there was a game that evening and being nosy thought we would go and check it out, wasn't major league, it was to one below. Managed to understand the game and how they scored by the finish but very entertaining especially the Referee.

Just been on the website on July 31st there is the 2005 USSSA Baseball Elite World Series.

Is this the kind of thing you went to see Fraser?

Hi Adam

I beleive so, Orlando used to play their home games at the Disney resort.
Orlando arn't a major league team but I beleive these guys are the next tier down.
Had a fantastic evening, the crowds a completly different from what you get in the UK.
Quite funny really and yes you start acting like them also.
Well worth a visit to watch as like you and your son we were intrigued to see what it was like.

Hi Simpson Fan,
My husband went to his first game last year at the Disney complex with my son and grandson, had to have his hotdog, coke and popcorn, went to the loo and missed the only home run of the game. He was so upset, unfortunately we all just laughed....[sporty]
