Roaches, ants, mozzies, spiders! But if you look around the outside lights at night wow!!!!

We set up a night vision camera and recorded all sorts in the garden including racoons, tortoise, and rabbits!!

They are there we all know that but all the villas are sprayed on a regular basis. I have never seen anything in ours that should not have been there. If i want to sit out in the evening I light a citronella oil candle and everything is fine.

Never seen that much in the way of bugs and certainly never indoors, never been bitten by mozzies in Florida (been bitten alive in Spain, Greece, etc) in more than ten years of frequent visits, no insects inside our pool net screen either. We do have a cute little gecko who lives in one of our outside lights though, I have seen a chameleon on someone else's window and we get amazingly huge butterflies outside our net screen.

Most communities have racoons which is why we tell our guests to make sure that they lock the trash bin lid on properly when they leave it out for collection or there's likely to be a racoon party!

not came across a lot like others have said - and like blott have never been bitten by midgies etc but when is spain, portugal etc you always get them.

our villas are all treated and with the pool covers etc keep them all out and away from the pool.

Even if you had the odd bug in the house .....I don't think you'd see it.....up in MA we have this funny bug that make a strange sound....thats the only way I know its in the house....but in 5 years I've never seen one inside.....just heard it.....and its an inch or so long....

I've only seen dead or dying bugs in my FL home.....and only one large one in 17 months.....

The first villa we rented (not from this site I will add) has lots of Roaches, they couldn't have sprayed. The villas we have had recently we han seen a single bug. I am terrified of spiders, roaches etc. [msnembarrased]

I've yet to see a Roach anywhere.....my friend said that she had Roaches in her shed last year.....but I went to look.....they are large flying bugs that they have in places like Montana....they have wings like butterflies..but are really ugly and they really hurt if they hit you....I have no idea what they are called.....but I don't think they are local to MA.....

I'm one of those 'lucky' people who seem to attract mozzies etc. However we have been going to Orlando for 15 years and I have only ever been bitten twice. Both times it was at Celebration in the evening and I have to say it was partly my fault as on both occassions I'd forgotten to use repellent before I went.

Just make sure you use a good insect repellent and you will be fine

Like Blott and Liz I have been badly bitten by insects in Spain , Portugal and have even had to get medical help after being bitten in the UK but never have any problems in Florida. Anything with Deet keeps them away.

We have our villa sprayed regularly and have never seen a sign of any 'wild life' indoors.

If you know you normally have problems with bites just take sensible precautions and spray before going outside especially in the evenings.
