    Travelling to USA

I want to travel to USA, but my pasport expires in less than 5 months from now.

Would I be allowed to travel to USA or do I have to renew my passport?

    Regards,

    Mogul

You need to renew your passport before Oct 2005 or you will need to get a visa as this is when new regulations come in ( I'm sure it's this year and not next) You will not loose your remaining months as they will give you up to 9 months credit.

It is advisable to renew but you only have to have 90 days on your passport.

Got this off of the US embassy website:-

If traveling under the Visa Waiver Program, the passport must be valid for at least 90 days from the date on which the holder enters the United States. If not, the holder will be admitted until the expiration date on the passport.

I would definitely renew, but why not go on the passport web site [ UK] and have a look at their advice?

    When are you travelling Mogul?

Susan, I am not sure you will get any advice from the UKPS and they don't particular care how long you have left on your passport it is down to the Country you are travelling to. My youngest son is going to Tunisa in Sept and they demand 6 months on your passport whereas, as I said above, the US only require 90 days.

The requirement for entry into the US is 90 days or as long as your return ticket date, so if you are going for two weeks and have two weeks and one day on your passport then you will be admitted. Personally I wouldnt leave it as close as that in case of any emergencies or delays to flights but you definitely do not need 6 months.
