Help - Holiday Clothes!!

my shorts and vest tops are getting a bit threadbare so I thought I'd shop around for some replacements, what a nightmare I've had!

I generally take a size 22/24 and found that very few places, even M&S, had nothing comfortable.

I like a simple vest and a pair of casual shorts, preferably elasticated waist.

I found a lot of stuff on the empire stores website at the weekend and ordered a load but when it came today it really was only sized at 18/20, no way was it 22/24.

Does anyone have any suggestions of any catalogues or shops they use here, or in fact should I just take what I've got and wait til I get to Florida?

I usually buy more tailored stuff, from eg Liz Claiborne, for my work when I'm there, I've not really looked for casual holiday stuff.

elaine you will always get xxxxl gear . t shirts and tops in lots of the stores they always cater for the bigger locals anyway. in the mean time join me and the ladies on the ov slimming thread[msnwink]

Matalan have a good range of sizes, cheap and cheerful. You could try Littlewoods too.

Why not buy a couple of things to start you off and then shop in florida.

Evans caters for sizes up to 30 they have a web page and also do home delivery..best to go in and try

Even Walmart have a good range of very reasonably priced casual wear in all sizes.

Try www.abound.co.uk or www.simplybe.co.uk , alot of the UK High Street stores have extended their sizes...Next online go up to a 22, Etam have sizes which go up to the 30's, Dorothy Perkins go up to a size 22....I live very close to Bluewater and spend wayyyyyy too much time in the shops, I don't know how generous the sizing is though?

To be honest, I would take the threadbare stuff with me, buy new out there and don't bother bringing the old stuff home!! Any excuse to shop[msnwink]

Wait until you get to Florida. You will find plenty of T-shirts shorts and in all sizes. Walmart, Target etc carry a large range and all the Shopping Malls have plenty, simple T-shirt/Vests elasticated shorts (don't forget that some of the people the other size of the pond make a size 22/24 look like Twiggy) The Premium outlets have loads, you will be spoilt for choice, so my advise is wait, take an empty suitcase and bring it back full!!! I do this every holiday.

I would do the same as DisneyDreamer, just take the bare essentials and leave space in your cases to bring things home. I was impressed with Wal-mart for their quality and sizing. You will have no problem finding clothes, its trying to get them all home thats the difficult bit. [msnwink]
