    My Travel Upgrade

    Hi,

Has anyone flown with mytravel and upgraded their seat on the plane. Im just wondering whether its worth it, and what you actualy het for your money.

I think its £70 pp each way.

Also, ia there any other way of getting bigger leg room seats, for example asking at check in, checking in first, asking for exit seats?

    Any info greatly appreciated

Hi Laura, I have upgraded several times on MyTravel and yes, it's been worth it. Larger seats, not that I have a big bum, and a better pitch. If you get the chance to check in first, then you could ask for a bulk head seat or exit seats. Don't rely on turning up and expecting to get an upgrade as they are generally bought well in advance and if they did have space up there, you will NEVER get bumped up "free of charge"

You can try for exit seats when you check in, but if you have a child with you, thet normally will not allow them to sit there.

My brother tries for these as he is a large chap and struggles with a regular pitch.

Try getting there early to maximise your chances!

Hi we flew with them last week from Glasgow cost £179 return to upgrade, not queing to check in, and having the 30kg luggage allowance was a bonus, the flight was full going out but coming back there where only 5 of us in the upgraded compartment, it was heaven, apparently ther where only 50 passengers in total on the return flight dont know why this was but thoroughly enjoyed it

It is worth it and the seats are as big as Virgin Premium economy seats, which cost twice as much.

The inflight service is not that much difference, but you do get to watch extra movies.

Thanks everybody. I'm, mostly looking for a bigger seat pitch, as my boyfriend is quite tall.

So you get bigger seats, longer pitch, and more baggage allowance?

Im not sure whether to risk it, and wait to try n get bulkhead seats!

We wont have children with us. This is our first time to florida, hopefully the 1st of many. We want to make it the holiday of a lifetime

If you want extra leg room don't risk waiting and asking at check in. My son is now 6' 5" he was 6' 3" last year when we flew and they would not let him have a bulk head seat, even though he really did not fit in the ordinary seats. We have upgraded this year and hope he will have a more comfortable flight.

I am pretty sure that you have to pay for the bulk head seats anyway so the cost difference between upgrading and travelling economy but in the exit seats isnt that great. I cant remember how much it is but recall it was in the region of £45.00/£50.00.

    Lesley is correct,

My brother works Mytravel Manchester - Orlando on the A330 and says you have to pay £15-30 to upgrade to the emergency exit seat.

To get these you will have to get there as early as you can at check in. I would go the whole hog and book the upgrade seats into premium now. if it is only £100 then that is not too bad.

    Hope this helps

I have just got a quote for July when we think the villa our villa is going to be completed.

was quoted £655 for 13 nights with Virgin. Out of manchester.

Quoted £620 for 14 Nights with Mytravel (including upgrades to premium on both flight legs!). normal cost was £500.
