Airline highlights new Star service
HOLIDAYMAKERS flying from Gatwick to Sanford on First Choice Airways on Saturday to join Disney’s 50th birthday celebrations were the first to sample the airline’s enhanced longhaul service.
First Choice claims its new Star Class on its Boeing 767 aircraft, featuring extended leg room, leather seats and individual back-of-seat television consoles, sets new standards in the charter flight sector.
More than 50 seats have been taken out of the revamped aircraft to allow for 33 inches of leg room in the Star Class and 36 inches in Star Class Premier – at least two inches more, said First Choice, than its main rivals.
First Choice Airways managing director Chris Browne said: “We believe the flight is an integral part of a great holiday experience, not just a means of getting from A to B.”
Meanwhile, the airline claimed customers are already booking sessions with on-board air therapists, which launched on its Cancun routes last Sunday.
A spokeswoman said: “We’ve large numbers of bookings for this month. Initial indications are that it will be very popular. If so we will roll it out to all long-haul routes.”
