As Steve has already mentioned if you have a fridge with the water and ice dispenser, you can buy a few bottles of water to start with and then use the empties and fill them to take to the parks. Its amazing just how much water you can get through in a fortnight even though bottled is cheap, so this way gives you more pocket money! [msnsmile2]

I think the water in the fountains does taste bleachy. We freeze small bottles of water to take with us and as they defrost you get nice cold water. We only resort to the fountains to top up the bottles if we run out

I have never thought of doing that...what an excellent tip![8D]
I have to be honest, I don't drink tap water at home, so I automatically buy bottled water where ever I am, and as already stated, it is a very good price

What am I like? I just drink the water from the tap, bit of a taste at times but it has not killed me yet; diito fountains. Not sure I trust the bottled water, were does it come from and who controls what is in it?

The bottled water in the parks is from that company whose name begins with D... (I can't remember the rest of the name, but they are part of one of the big coke firms), but they were the ones who tried to sell London tap water in the UK, in bottles (if you remember the publicity a couple of years ago). We always take our own bottles (from Wal*Mart) into the parks and fill up from the fountains - it seems to taste ok

altho we drink bottled water, we use the tap water for ice, until we decided it tastes disgusting with its twang! so now we even make ice using bottled water

I think it's Desani, I live in Bexley Village in Kent and the water was taken from a Coca Cola plant a couple of miles down the road in Sidcup....I couldn't believe they were charging more than a quid for a bottle of water that I could get out of my taps at home!!!!![msnscared]

It is safe.... but it is rather different from ours. Be careful, some places, like the racetrack I go to, use well water, this is even mixed with the fizzy drinks. It is not very good!
Even the locals prefer not to drink it!
