    Birthday Treats

Hi, I've booked a holiday in September for me, my husband, our 16 year old daughter, 13 year old son and 6 year old niece.

We are going the week after my son's birthday, and I'm wanting to arrange a suitable treat, that doesn't cost the earth, but it has to be something that will appeal to all ages. My son had to cancel all birthday celebrations last year, when he was injured in a vicious attack, and he spent the whole summer strapped up, with a broken collarbone and other injuries. So I'd like this year to be extra special, if you know what I mean?

Can anyone recommend anything that will give that extra special treat but still appeal to the other kids too?

    Thanks

What about a helicopter ride? I don't know how much they charge but i'm sure someone in the forum does.I surprised my husband once for his birthday although we weren't up for long it was a fantastic experience he absolutely loved it!

I would look at booking either a dinner show, although the food is not upto scratch on some of them. Maybe a dine with Shamu at Seaworld. Or a day in Discovery Cove

    Thanks for your replies.

I've had a look at Discovery Cove packages and the birthday special sounds good.

I've heard that the Olive Garden is a nice place for Italian food, is there any other restaurants that come highly recommended?

The kids had such a traumatic year last year, I really want to push the boat out and make it a holiday of a lifetime.

I would choose to go for the buffet dinner in the Gaylord Palms

Food was excellent. Eat as much as you like

You could take the family for an early morning hot air balloon ride.

What about BOma in AK where you can look out at the animals? What does your son especially like so we can give you some more ideas?

How about hiring a limousine to take you for your evening out - I don't think they are too expensive, and it might appeal to all ages

We are out in two weeks time and it both my friends son birthday (11 years old) and daughters(3)whilst we are out there.
We have booked dine with shamu and character breakfast at Animal kingdom. We plan to do something else whilst we are out there but at present are unsure what to do.
