It's yeast extract and comes in a sort of paste which some people spread on toast or sandwiches. Some people use it as flavouring in stews or casseroles or just dissolve it in boiling water for a savoury drink.

    Have a look at http://www.marmite.com

Oh, been eaten alive by mossies all over Europe but never, ever, in more than ten years of visiting twice a year, in Florida.

We use an insect repelent called 'Cutter'. It is available from the hunting, walking and outdoor department at Walmart. We find it very good, smells a bit funny though.

I get bitten regularly when abroad and have a bad reaction to hestimine (had to receive medical treatment in Hong Kong and Germany) but seem to be ok in Florida I got a couple of bites last trip but that was my own fault, standing on the proch at dusk talking to hubby, without any spray!

Garlic and Beer are also supposed to be good detterents, the beer probably due to the yeast like in Marmite.

I have heard that Avon hand cream is supposed to be very good, apparetnly they used it when filming the Harry Potter movies up in Scotland and I was also recommended it by a local when on holiday in Antigua a couple of years ago.
