What is the selection of groceries like at Walmart? From the research I have done there seems to be a Winn Dixie very near and a Publix a little further away, but as an ASDA colleague I get a discount at Walmart [msnsmile2] But it is further away, and I wonder if the extra travelling is worth the discount (probably not) I am staying at Emerald Isle.
And if you knew how long it took to trype this after an evening in my local hosteltry, you would wonmder why i didn't waiy til orning to ask!!!!!!

Wal-Mart probably have a similar selection of groceries except that Publix have a whole heap more! Like 10 selections of say, washing powder, in Wal-Mart to 20 selections in Publix for the same type of item.
Think of Wal-Mart as being the complete opposite of ASDA. ASDA is all groceries and little bits of other stuff whereas Wal-Mart is loads of other stuff and a (relatively to the store size) small selection of groceries.
Wal-Mart is great for selling absolutely most everything you can think of and Publix is great for selling absolutely everything you can think of in the grocery line. Different stores for different markets. [msnwink]
blott
I will be doing my first shop at Publix in about 98 hours
We aways go to Publix its a quicker shop when you first arrive also
The fruit, bread, and Deli counter are better

Either will do as they supply everything you will need, dependant on where you are staying is to where you will probably go but both Walmart & Publix are dotted around.
Have to say I agree about the Key Lime Pie from Publix DEEEEEEEEEElicous.
Have any of you tried the Cynammon Bread, great for Breakfast toasted with a nice dollop of butter.![]()

When we stay at our villa in Emerald Island, we tend to go to Publix for our first shopping trip. It only take a few extra minutes to get there. The Publix is larger than the Winn-Dixie, has a larger selection of items, and better prices. We use the Winn-Dixie for the quick - "ooops I forgot something" kind of trip.
BTW - The Winn-Dixie has a different name on the front of the store. I can't remember what the name is at the moment, but I only knew it was associated with Winn-Dixie when I got my receipt with the Winn-Dixie name on it.
