    Car Upgrade Again

We have booked our holiday up now, flights with TCD with extra leg room and an Intermediate Car.

I phoned up TCD today to find out how much an upgrade would be..... they said £20 per week for a Full Size.

I wast thinking of something bigger ...... we are hiring from doller .. and collecting at sanford

There is 4 adults going and with something vectra sized i thought that would be big enough.

So should i wait till we get there? that works out $75 is for two weeks ..... our flight lands at 17.25 on a sunday so maybe that might be a good haggling point?

I know this has been asked before.

The last time i went we booked an econamy 2 door and we got a 2 door dodge stratus ...... it was great ..... [bad language filtered out] turning circle but it had air con and a cd player

    thanks

    Tom

Are you sure it works out to only $75 for two weeks? What about the extra insurance, taxes, etc, etc, have you included those as well? It sounds to me as if the £20 per week might include those already?

Best check out the small print I think...

Now that would be an upgrade!

we always get a fly drive quote on an intermed just so we have a standard figure to compare, but each year we upgrade out there to a jeep. i dont have the full figures too hand but its cheaper to upgrade here, no extra taxes etc etc. we have upgraded.

you can use 'belucky' and hope for a sell out or free upgrade but its arisk. why not set up a poll and ask how many have been upgraded free?

Whats this about Hummers - I thought this would be the last year my son would be coming with us, but if theres a chance of a Hummer I thing that would be a definate plus point he has always loved them.

The main car hire companies do not rent Hummer's. You would have to go to a specialist vehiccle hire company for those types of cars.

This might change when the new hummer 3 is launched next month, the smallest hummer yet, it has a 3.5 litre engine and is aimed at the average suv owner, starting at $29,995, it is likely to tempt buyers who wouldn't normally have been comfortable in a hummer,we may see hire companies renting them alongside other suv's.

Let's hope so as that would be great. We've not heard anything to indicate they will be doing this so best to assume they will not for now. The last thing we want is people booking 4x4's thinking they will be getting a new Hummer, only to find they get a standard 4x4 i.e. Grand Cherokee Laredo.

We have recently booked our car for November through this site. We were amased at the great value for money at the moment. The dollar exchange rate is certainly working in our favour.
