    pre booking seats with virgin

we have just booked our flight to Orlando for March/April 2006..
    [clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]

we have booked from this website with virgin.
Now I'm a bit confused as to pre booking seats.
Can I pre book ? If yes how far in adcance, as i have just read that
somebody booked for next year February, but it was through
    Virgin direct.
I did not get a ref. number on booking, how long does it usually take for the documents to arrive ?
I actually love flying, but the thought of sitting in the middle
of a cramped huge airbus makes me panic..[msnscared]

We were also asked on booking to go ahead with the car hire.
The quote from this website was £398, but my husband was told these figures were dated and charged us £410.
I thought Dollar had not gone up in prize ?

Sorry for all those questions....but it is our first time !!

    thanks
    Ramona

You should get a flight ref from Charter, if not, wait a week, then phone Virgin themselves giving your surname as a reference, with the flight details. They should be able to sort it.

    Hi Ramona

If my memory serves me right I beleive you can pre-book your seats approx 180days prior to your departure, I would think that the numbers needed to call for this service will be on your documentation when you receive it.

I read somewhere that it has now changed and you can pre book seats up to 300 days before you travel with Virgin now.

my thoughts to! they will save seats for you as you have just booked them surely??????? and as for pre booking surely thats to ask for specific seats??????????? ie, with children , all together, extra legroom, non window seats, (not everyone wants to look out of them) front or back of plane etc..........

mind you have seen programmes on TV that show people turning up for their flights only to find the reservations have over booked the seats so some cannot board certain flights

    Hi Ramona

In answer to your question I have just Phoned Virgin Atlantic to ask how they already had pre booked seats for us. And there answer was that my Wife Pre-booked them approx 1 month ago which I didn't know about. Apologies for the missing understanding

Just a thought here - I prebooked my sisters seats for her when she was flying with Virgin. I did this 180 prior to departure yet when they arrived at Gatwick they were told that they were sitting elsewhere. Their party was split up. THey were told that even tho I had pre booked the seats this did not mean that Virgin gurantee to honour the seating on the day.
I would still attempt to prebook as they may not always change the seating. I would also recommed the Twilight Check in if you can manage it.
    Have a great trip[msnsmile2]

Hi Ramona ....you always have the option to change your seats even when they are booked, you can do this on-line.....and as for the car hire i'm not sure but i believe it to be a different company who you book the car-hire through and not charter travel who the flights are booked with....this would account for the difference in the price.
