Lucy-just picking up a point from your last post-did I see a Corncorde next to one of the runways at Manchester airport(disused of course!) or was I just imagining it?

You did! She is the star of the show at the Aviation Viewing Park! I took my children on the tour on Easter Sunday - it was a real trip down memory lane for me as its the aircraft that I did my first ever Concorde trip on back in '97 to Miami, and she is also the aircraft that I did an around the world trip on in '99 - for those who are interested it is G-BOAC and she was the flagship!
She is also the only Concorde that is completely intact - still has engines and fully functional so you never know one day they may bring her out of mothballs, it would not be the first time
I will try to post a photo!

Thanks Lucy-We passed it fairly quickly and I did a double-take as I thought they'd all been dismantled. I'd have loved to have gone on one!
We flew From New York on Jun 9th 2003 to Heathrow by Concorde
It was a suprise bithday present for my better half
In April of that year ,on my way to work they announce Concorde was goung out of service in September 2003
we had alays said we would fly on her one day so it was now or never
Keeping it secret was hard
But to see his face that morning at the Airport still brings a lump to my throat

We worked it out the other day that I must have done around 900-1000 Concorde flights[msnwink]

My best friends come from Egypt...I've yet to get there....something always gets in the way.......my uncle worked on Tuts tomb items and painted a picture that hangs in the British Museum of Tuts death mask........he also work in Egypt in the second world war for a time....

We bought the kid's a DVD over the weekend which we watched last night...it was called Tooth and I was keen to watch it because it has lots of British comedians in it...Harry Enfield, Stephen Fry...it was awful...the kids enjoyed it though!!!!![:P]
