Go for the premium!! We drive a Crown Vic at home and don't like the cars we get here very much we go for full size or Intermediate sometimes as there is always only two of us. We find different car hire firms have different types of cars under each category. Alamao has a car under Intermediate and Hertz calls the same model a compact.
The only cars we have liked in the last 8 trips have been a Ford Taurus and a Mitsibushi spider!
Got a 2 door sporty looking Stratus at the minute as the choice was limited, we have had a four door before but its prety basic, its lke trying to turn a tank, no lock whatsoever!

I want a go of the PT Cruiser so might risk that next time

Go CDV on try the pt cruiser, best car i've ever owned[msnsmile2]

We booked a jeep on our last visit in march, but were very dissapionted with the car, very drab interior and exterior[xx(],we changed to a Chrysler Pacifica which we have had before and is agreat car.But we had a few mechanical problems after a few days and had to change to another car,Dollar were excellent, we were offered a Chrysler 300 touring,What a fantastic car,but was a little underpowerd,at only 5.7 litre v8. Treat yourself to the premium car like you have already said it is not that more expensive and it is worth it for the luxury.

We normally upgrade when we arrive in orlando but this year we booked thru this site and got the upgrade for peanuts via the links on here

LOL - we had a Chrysler 300 Touring in LA a few weeks ago and it's a HUGE car but whatever is under the hood certainly makes up for it as it has sports car like performance and was great fun to drive.

It even raised a few eyebrows in LA so it must look the business

Also, it was the first US car we've managed to fit ALL our luggage (including hand luggage) for the 4 of us in the trunk - it's massive!

we have booked a 4 door intermediate car, can anyone tell me what they are like? What is the british equivalent in size??

whilst the inside is roomy for 4. you wont get 4 large suitcases in the boot and will struggle with 3. i suppose its acceptable if you just drive to villa unpack then drive back to airport(with even more luggage) at the end of the hol. if you are 2 centring or doing keys and west coast etc , you have to go bigger ,which is either 4 x 4 or 7 seaters. i personally find the 7 seaters boring but it takes all sorts[msnsmile2]

Hi worldpeace, srtrictly speaking Dollar, now class the Pacifica as a downgrade from a 4x4. I agree though the Pacifica is a great car.
