Thanks to those of you doing this, from someone who is benefiting.
I have raised money in the past for cancer research after my mother in law died.
Next year I hope to do the run but this year I am making use of some of what cancer research has to offer myself.
To those of you taking part-a big thank you[clap][clap]

There were several of us that were going to do this, but we were put of when we found out that you have to pay £8.50 to register. I am all for raising money for charity, as we do on a regular basis at school, I give my time willingly being charged for the pleasure is something else.

Lyn, the entry fee covers the following, got this of the web site...............................

We have to charge an entry fee to cover the organisation of our events and*administrative costs. By charging an entry fee we make sure that every penny of your sponsorship money goes straight to Cancer Research UK. We do everything in our power to keep costs as low as possible.* Here are a few examples of what Cancer Research UK needs to pay for with the entry fee:

    Venue hire
    Barriers and staging

    PA system
    Toilets
    Entry form printing
    Race numbers
    Medals
    Marquees
    Van hire
    Signage
    Postage of entry packs
    Data processing
    Call centre operators

If it means ALL the sponsorship money goes straight to where its needed then Im more than happy to pay £8.50 to enter

Alot of time and effort goes into planning these events. If you entered any kind of runing race you would have to pay a fee. The fee is very cheap compared to some races.
When you arrive on your race day and see what goes on behind the scenes you will see where that £8.50 has gone.

THE MEDALS ARE REALLY GOOD AND YOU GET ONE AS YOU CROSS THE FINISH LINE WITH EVERYONE CHEERING AND CONGRATULATING YOU ITS GREAT FUN.
    SIGN UP TODAY.
(no i dont work for RACEFORLIFE,but i do nurse people with cancer)
