Urgent Driving licence

We've just been informed that you need the photo id licence for driving in florida is this true?

i never have. All i have ever had to produce was a current clean licence.

No it's not true. The old UK style one + photo ID (passport etc etc) is ok. If it's a valid licence in the UK then they will accept it [msnsmile]

The new photo driving licence is dead handy in Florida for other reasons though - some stores (e.g. Apple Store in Mall At Millennia) require photo ID if you are spending over a certain amount and the UK photo driving licence is perfect for the job and saves you having to carry round your passport.

No, Dave has the old style UK license and he's never had a problem

I've never had a problem with my licence and that has points on for speeding so not "clean".

If you do have a photo one, then you only have to show this one when getting the hire car unless you have any endorsements and then you need the paper one!

Aud[/quote]No problem with having points - if you're entitled to drive in the UK, then you're OK to drive in the USA.
