My Mam's got a good story.
Back in the olden days, When me Mam was a lass, she worked at the NAAFI in West Kirby on the Wirral, which was were all the guys doing National Service with the RAF did their basic training. Me mam fancied two blokes, Local boy Peter Mackay, and Eddie Pugsley from Daarn Saaarf. After a bit of toing and froing, she decided she'd have Peter, my Dad. Mum and Dad were married for ooooh I don't know, 30 years? until he very sadly died of Cancer about 10 years ago.
7 years after his death, 3 years ago, Mum got an invite to a reunion of the RAF base staff and airmen and there she met, Eddie! They struck up a fresh relationship, apparently he hadn't changed a bit, and they were married just over a year ago. It's funny but you could never imagine anyone replacing your Dad, and nobody would ever be good enough for your Mum right? but Eddie really is a lovely kind Man we couldn't wish for a nicer step dad. So you see, in the truest tradition of the Canadian mounted police service, She got both her men in the end.
We're taking hom to Florida in March, he's never travelled much before. Can't wait![msnsmile2]
