    portable dvd

Hi I have been told that I will not be able to charge a Venturer PVS 1071 portable DVD in Orlando, can someone please tell me! I thought I would just be able to plug it in as I do with the game boy. I was thinking of buying one at Wollies as they are 1/2 price (129.99) and I was thinking it would be good for plane and car!!!! Anyone got any info on this make good or bad???

It should charge ok but will take twice as long. On rare occasions I have had some batteries ruined by charging them in the USA, I have no idea why, it appears that they were drained beyond the lowest limit. Very odd.

We have a Goodmans and Technosonic and both will charge using the UK adapter. Please note our DVD players will not work on the Villa TV but we have managed to multi region then so American Region 1 DVD's work on them. You can use them on the Plane (Not sure about Charter flights)
DM if you need a site for the code for the multi region.

    Bruce,
not sure what the Woolworths prices are like but if you can wait till you are out in florida, at Christmas we bought a 7" screen Venturer Portable DVD from Walmart for about $160-00. Included a carry case, fitting for the back of a car seat, games and a game controller. Charges up in the uk fine with a normal plug adapter. This wasn't a sale or anything either.

    Some do

We bought one from Walmart, Initial

Lovely player, but would not play Region 2

I looked everwhere on the net and found nothing for over 12 months then I found the code to change it 2 months ago.

Best thing to do is search for one before you go and check to see if you can make it multi region

No unless you multi regioned it. Most the cheaper one's can easliy be multi regioned by entering a code via the remote control.

Thanks for replys, maybe I'll wait until I'm over in US, and hope I can get a code to change it to multi region, probably one with games will be better and they do seem to be coming down in price.

Think you will only get a small screen (4.5") for that price. Cheapest 7" is £130, that i can see on their web site.
The only problem buying a US version is that if it goes wrong then how do you get it repaired. One of 7" players has developed a fault but luckly we bought it in the UK and it getting repaired as we speak.
