    Anxiety

We are going to Florida on the 1st April. I am quite worried about it because I think that it is going to be VERY VERY busy. Both times that we have went before have been very quite, therefore, we really were able to enjoy the parks. However, as I am now a classroom assistant I cannot take holidays outside of school holidays, I only took the kids out once anyway, & felt guilty about it. So, I felt that Easter hols were the best option as it can get so hot in Florida during the summer hols. Does anyone else feel like me, or am I just being a worrier? Anyone been before during the Easter hols? If so, how bad was it really?

It should not be too busy when you arrive, Easter is this weekend so you are catching the backend of it. There may be some Spring Breakers still around but after next weekend it should be quiter as everyone is back at school/work etc. I get claustophobic in large crowds but never really felt like that at the parks except of Millenium Eve! We are here at the minute and I really expected it to be busier. We are back out again on the 7th April and I am not expecting crowds.[msneek]

I am glad you asked this question as it was something I was wondering about for future visits.

This year we are going halfway through October half-term but when Daniel starts secondary school I want to try and avoid taking them out of school if possible. I love the idea of going at Christmas also, I would love to experience the atmosphere at MK on christmas day, but after hearing how busy it can be, maybe it wouldnt be much fun[msnsad]

I have heard that Easter can be very busy but have never experienced it so any comments from people that have would be appreciated[msnsmile2]

Last year we flew out on Good Friday. The parks were not too busy but we did notice the restaurants were very busy. The second week was fairly quiet.

We do not like to take our girls out of school for too long so we always combine it with half term etc.

Perhaps poor panicdiva is in a similar situation to ourselves here in Oxfordshire. Our granddaughter is on Holiday today and Easter Monday, back to school Tuesday to Friday and then off for 2 weeks. Our other grandchildren in South Glos. started their 2 weeks holiday on Wed. 23rd. March.

Thanks everyone for your info. Yes Cowboy, we are in the same situation as your grandaughter in that we were off today & Mon. back to school Tues. then finish up on Friday for 2 wks. Our council always has the 2wks easter break during the 1st 2 wks of April no matter when Easter falls. This is why I was wondering if orlando would be busy because there alot of councils in this situation. Also, on the Brits Guide to Orlando site - they say that the prediction is that it will be very busy at this time. When we went in October in 2002, the longest line we stood in was Spiderman in IOA which was 25mins. The rest of the time the waiting time was between 5 & 15mins. On Jurassic Park we literally came off and went straight back on again. Well, if it is busy we will just use the fast track facilities more.

We went Easter time four years ago. We made a decision to stay out of the parks on Good Friday as that is supposed to be the busiest day and we had a wonderful day with a BBQ by the pool.

Its definitely true that parks and restaurants are busier around Easter, but generally Americans get the Friday and the Monday off and return to work. If you aren't going out till 1st April, things should be quieter by then.

If things are getting too much, it might be worthwhile splitting your day and return to the parks later in the day, as they begin to thin out and the weather cools a bit. I warn you though that if you return to your villa, it can be hard to drag everyone out of the pool or off the playstation and back to the parks.

Also depending on the number of people in your group, it is not unusual to have a 40-50 minute wait for a table in a restaurant, which can be torture with children after a day in the parks.

Whatever you do, you'll be doing it in Florida, so it will be great!! I hope you all have a wonderful time. Have a Margarita for me!
