Being that my husband works in test.......we never buy anything when it first comes out...we let others iron out all the bugs and problems...and then we buy the finished thing a year or two later......at half the cost......[msnwink]

    [/quote]

Problem with that, Chrizzy, is by then the next system will be out and the the one you're going after will be old and outdated. Not to mention if you have an impatient kid.....[msnsad]

My son uses a PC for gaming......he does have a PS2.....but he was never happy with it...and only really uses it to play DVDs on.....he just updates his PC for new games when he need too....his PC looks like something out of NASA.....

I did read an article (FAQ) produced by Sony which stated that

    "Are PSP Games Region-Locked?
No, you can play imported PSP games on your North American PSP, although it is possible multiplayer functionality may be lost with games from different regions."

So the fact that they are not region locked is good news. The Nintendo DS is also region un-locked.

Okay we are the mugs that bought one 1st day out !
It was my sons 12th birthday, and we had told him he could have one - anyway leaving Cypress Gardens on 24th March, [ nice day out] a little voice sadi -" PSP is out today" so we called in to the first Walmart we found, and bought it, no queue, and a couple of games.
I have to tell you there is nothing like it. The quality of the screen, the sound, everything is brilliant. It wows us with its technical prowess!
He also has the Nintendo DS, which is good, but this one knocks everything aside. The screen is a good size, and he got Spiderman 2 on disc free with it. Who cares if it is region locked I'll just keep going back to Florida for games Highly recommended!!

Our son has his name down for one when they eventually come out, he has put aside his birthday money. We have been told that an announcement will be made in May as to price, release date in the UK and wether it will be region locked or not. We figure that if it isn't region locked we will cancel and get one in the US when we go in the summer.[msnsmile2]

I would double check this info, as I emailed them last week and received a reply station that you can not play imported games.
They will be region coded for different countries.

Also the DS, although the old games are compatible, some of the new DS games are region coded.

The UK sites do not state the region codes, but one site I use in north america does. Some are region "0" but not all are.
    Buy with caution.
We intend to check these out on our next visit!
