    WOAH!

We had a friend round in the week who has just got back from Australia. She went all on her own and while there learned how to surfboard

"So what!" I hear you say. Well,Kim is 78! I only hope I have a similar tale to tell when I am 78.

Anyone else got ant daring senior cit tales?

My mum sounds just like Kim, she went to Aus last year and learnt how to sandboard (surfing on sand) [msnsmile]

This year she is backpacking in Borneo [msneek], she's 75 and decided the tour of California she wants to do is far too sedate till she's older.

She goes completely on her own since Dad died and has loved every minute of it. She has just about toured the world now. My mum is sooo cool [msncool]

My dad ran (and completed) the London marathon for the first time the day after his 61st birthday and then again 2 years later to prove it wasnt a fluke.

Now he's nearer 75 his knees won't stand it but he has obviously passed the taste for adventure to my half sister (32), she and her husband took a years sabbatical from their jobs last Oct and have been backpacking around the world since then. They've just reached New Zealand having spent the last 5/6 months in South America and Brazil. They've got a long way to go to catch up with some of these golden oldies here though.

Wow how inspirational, hope I am that active at that age!!

My gramps is 96 and although his sight is not so good, he looks after himself pretty well since my Grandma died two years ago. I will admit we never thought he would cope as being a typical man of his era, couldnt even boil an egg!!
