want to move to America will LD nursing help

i am interested in setting up a buisness in Orlando, I am currently doing my nurse training in learning disabilities, will this get me to America with a green card. I know that nursing is needed out there but i don't think learning disability nursing is recognised. Should i apply for an E2 visa and then look to buying a buisness.

You will need to find a business before you apply for the visa ..

Are you married, if so fins a business, get your husband to apply for an E2, get your work permit as an E2 dependant and then you can work as what you want. They are looking for generalist nurses for the green card route and it is currently taking more than two years.

Yes we are married and have a daughter aged 19 months. We are thinking about moving to Florida on an E2 and getting a business. Does anyone know if Learning disability nursing could lead to a green card. I have heard that it would be a skill that they would require and that i would be sought after. I don't want to spend the next two years studying hard, if it would not lead to a green card. I would rather focus the time and effort in to my own business out there. I know an E2 doesn't qualify for a green card, but we do plan to have more children so could they get us a green card?

First check that they will accept a UK qualification over here without any retraining. Ordinary general nurses have to do the American nursing exam. Nurses can apply straight for green card without the need for labour certification, not sure if that applies to your branch, if not your employer would need to apply for labour certification but should be OK if there is a skills shortage. Having more kids is of limited help. They can sponsor you but not till they are 21.

My friend was a child nurse in the UK.......and she is having to take nursing all over again in the USA ....she was told if she had been a general nurse...that would of helped.....but she had only taken exams to do with kids....she could get no work on the Cape or in Boston after she got her work permit in anything other than general caring for kids on a very low wage....

When we have sold up we will be looking at bringing about $220K to $250 What kind of business do you recommend to buy. We have been looking at salons. How much do people spend on average to get an E2 visa. What sort of profits are we looking at to qualify for a visa every five years.
    Thanks for all advice!!

E2, investment must be substantial, seen as around $100,000 mark, though $150,000 is safer, $60,000 owner draw, one US employee preferred. If you are a nurse, have you looked at a day care or an assisted living facility??
