    Ipod availability/prices in Orlando

Please, please, please help me. My 10 year old son is driving me mad!!! he is saving for an MP3 player and would really like an ipod, he is very good at saving (unlike his mother!!) and has already saved about £60

I have told him, he would probably get a far better deal in Florida and wondered if anyone has bought one or seen them for sale for a good price recently.

We already have friends who are visiting in November who said they would bring one back for us.

    Many thanks

    Anita

They are all on sale at the same price wherever you go in the USA from what I can see. The prices are on Apple's online store at www.apple.com

    Walmart have a selection instore.

Probably a little cheaper than apple.com

Does it have to be an IPod??

If not, Walmart have the one made by Creative for $223 for the 40gb one.

I've never seen iPod's in Wal-Mart - last time I asked they said they do not stock them. I wonder if this is a new thing?

    Could be!
They had all the new Ipod Shuffle's in when we were there last week.

Just checked there site, the 20gb one is out of stock!

Maybe the iPod's are just coming in now they have been out for a while!

Although I am more tempted with the Archos AV420

The v2 iPod Mini's that have just come out all have this battery life. The normal iPod's now feature enhanced battery life too - my Photo iPod lasts something like 13 hours which is really handy for the flight to Florida [msnsmile]

That's a 4Gb ipod mini which is different to the full blown ipod.
The mini still holds about 1000 songs, or over 2.5 days of continuous music, so is more than adequate for a lot of peoples needs.
I love my ipod mini but I will be upgrading to a bigger one come October as this was a trial to see if I would use one.

They are still a bit cheaper in the states, for example you can save about £50 on current exchange rates on the 30Gb photo ipod.
