    Exchange rate looking good

Good news for anyone going to the USA soon as the exchange rate at this moment is $1.894 for a quid
I just hope it can rise to $2 for £1 in the near future as that would be great

OM is quoting the commercial rate if you were transferring large sums, you have quoted the TC rate.

That would explain it then, unfortunately some of us aren't in a position to get the better rate![msnsad]

Yes but it is still a very good rate, I remember when it was the other way round and we hit £1 for $1....[msncry]

The other side of the coin is that those who bought when the US$ was a lot stronger have seen the value of our property(in terms of Sterling) fall by up to 40%.

One man's meat is another man's poison?

On the othe hand those who bought when the dollar was low have seen properties increase in value by 40%, so what you lose on the swings you gain on the round-a-bouts[msnwink]
