I think we're going to pretty much play it by ear regarding travelling down to Key West - we'll see how we feel...We haven't got anything booked for the last five days prior to returning, so we're under no pressure to do anything specific

Thing is, its our first proper holiday in years (6 years at uni, buying a house and then getting married hadn't left us with much £££!) so want to make the most of it. Besides, we're not lounge round the pool kind of people - love being kept busy! [sporty] Being an insomniac helps me in this regard too [msnwink]

We are aiming to get to the Theme parks early & finish early. Not too bothered about seeing everything, just the main rides. This should leave plenty of free time for shopping & chilling in the afternoons...
What time can we get to Universal for? I was told to be there by 8:30...

I really do fancy Gatorland so thats sorted!

Thanks for all the advice so far; keep it coming! [msncool]

whatever you decide to do you will have a great time, i wouldnt try to squash it all into one holiday you can always go back again and again!!
we didnt think we would ever go once let alone twice and now up for a third time!!! cant wait!! just as excited as we were the first time!! but it does tire you, so much to see and do!!!!!

Althogh the official opening time for most parks is 9am, the gates sometimes go up up to 30 minutes earlier on busy days. So, it is worth being at Universal by 8:30am if you can, but bear in mind the traffic at rush hour. Seeing that you have properly recerved full days for IoA and Universal Studios, being there by 9am is more than sufficient to see everything as long as you are clever with use of the UE passes.

Two tips: Don't miss the great Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue at Universal Studios. Then, when you do IoA, go anti-clockwise, starting at Suess Landing and arriving at Marvel Super-Hero Island last. That works out much better because (among other things) you arrive at Duelling Dragons earlier in the day and that has potentially the longest wait if you miss out UEs.

Can you explain UE passes in a bit more detail? & do I get them from near the ride or the entrance?

Neither actually. UE machines are distributed around both parks so that each centre is convenient for three or four rides in the vicinity. In my opinion they are not as well organised as WDW's FPs and the machines occasionally give trouble (especially if the touchscreens are smeared with sauce or butter!) but it works on the same principle. If I remember right, you get a choice of times available with some ( the one for MiB for example) but we went through IoA last time without using a single UE and so I cannot tell about all of them.
