    Memorial weekend

We're going to be in Orlando over the Memorial weekend at the end of May. According to the experts the crowds are high from the Friday through to the Tuesday. Can anyone recommend which would be the least busy out of Disney Parks, Disney Water Parks, Disney Quest, shopping or anywhere else.
    Thanks for your advice

For the WDW parks. It is best to avoid them on the respsctive Extra Magic Hour (EMH) days. Thus, avoid Magic Kingdom on Wednesday & Friday, Epcot on Monday & Thursday, MGM on Sunday & Tuesday and Animal Kingdom on Tuesday & Saturday. But bear in mind that it will be busy through out the Memorial Weekend.

Water Parks and Disney Quest tend to get very busy during weekends and are likely to be even more so during this break. Your best bet is to arrive early, but expect crowds. Shopping should be busy too, but no specific days that are worse than others.

If the Memorial Weekend is only part of a long visit to Orlando, I suggest that you avoid WDW and the other major parks altogether at that time and go to smaller places like Cypress Gardens, Winter Park etc.

We did Typhoon lagoon last memorial weekend and the place was very busy. We were advised to stay away from the parks and head for the sales instead which we did and managed to get some bargains.

We were in Orlando last year for Memorial weekend, we did the parks before and after the weekend and as Pieman 709 said we went shopping during the weekend. Great sales everywhere.[clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]

We have booked Discovery Cove for the Saturday of Memorial weekend. Sunday has been designated 'Day of Rest' and evening show. Monday has been designated Boggy Creek and shopping.[clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap] Thought DC was a good idea as there is a limit to the numbers. We are going with Londongirl and her family. Definately avoiding any thing Disney over that weekend. Does it quieten down on the Wednesday at Disney unless its Extra Magic Hour.[msncool]

I didn't know anything about Memorial weekend - but I do now. I'll be arriving late afternoon on the Monday. are the shops open as normal to get supplies, and is this just a weekend thing or does it stretch into the following week for school breaks etc.

All the stores should be open, no problem there. But Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, and many of the southern schools are out end of May, beginning of June. Unfortunately for us, being in the north,we will likely go until the end of June due to snow days! [msnscared]
