Thread: Favorite Beach?

  1. #11
I would definatly recommend the West Coast beaches, we have see wild dolphins on many occasions at Clearwater. The last time we went to Naples, part of the beach was closed as some Sea Turtles had nested and they are protected, but you could see them from the open section.

Fort Myers for us.We usually stay for a few days before heading to Orlando. We stay in a stunning condo on the beach.I love everything about it, but a lovely tradition I seem to have developed is that on our last morning there, my youngest daughter(8) and I set the alarm for just before dawn and whilst everybody else is sleeping, we head off for a stroll along the beach as the sun rises behind us. We run in the sea, look at shells etc and enjoy the peace.-Magical.

Some friends of ours recently went to New Smyrna Beach near Edgewater, some miles south of Daytona. They said that it was very picturesque, clean and uncrowded, yet with a lot of Watersports opportunities in one section. It can be easily reached via I-4 that goes within 20 miles of the beach and then taking Route 44.

I'm with Steve & Dawn on this, Fort Myers Beach is our favourite beach, we stay right on the beach and love walking along the shore at dusk.

Lyn & Aiminghigh, where do you stay? We normally stay at Pointe Etsero or the Gullwing. Have you tried the cinema there where you can sit and have a meal while watching a movie?? Very Nice.[msnsmile2]

I loved Fort Myers when we went there, It was a good place with my young daughter as the beach is close to facilities if you need them, you can walk to shops restaurants etc, yet there are miles of unspoilt area also. On the other coast Cocoa beach is nice.

We have always stayed at a little place called The Buccaneer when we have been, but the last time it was up for sale and had gone downhill a lot, looking for somewhere nice on the beach preferably with a barby. Would post some piccies but Bill needs to do something with the file size first.

Remember that there are a number of villas for rent from the links above near the Gulf Coast beaches. I've just found one in Clearwater(not ours I hasten to add.)
