    Free food remains on Continental.

Glad to hear this seeing as i'm flying with them in a few weeks
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Continental bucks trend, sticks to free meals: Continental is the only major carrier to continue offering free meals in coach class on all flights after other airlines suspended meal service or started selling snacks as a way to cut costs. 'Food service is an essential part of what we do for customers,' Continental executive Mark Bergsrud tells the Houston Chronicle. 'We think it bears fruit for us.' With fares and jets fairly similar among most U.S. airlines, it's getting harder to differentiate, says Kevin Mitchell of the Business Travel Coalition. 'What that suggests is that the next and final battleground is going to be on customer service.' Still, one reason Continental's economy-class passengers get free meals is that the airline's food provider, Chelsea Catering, is a money-making division of Continental Airlines.

Did I not read somewhere that this was about food on internal flights?

Would not bother me not receiving food from the airlines as I prefer to eat a good breakfast or lunch before i leave, and bring some snacks. As long as they keep on serving beverages I will be ok.

As far as I'm aware, all scheduled airlines provide hot food on international flights. They don't, however, provide it on short domestic flights within the UK or USA (but there again, I don't think they have done so for a very long time, in my experience anyway).

I seldom bother with in-flight meals and Continental have been on the lower end of the catering scale anyway. Personally, I would translate the title of this post as "Free food-remains on Continental"! Could be closer to the truth.
