    Mark Two Dinner Theatre

Has anyone ever been to the Mark Two Dinner Theatre up in Orlando.
We are taking Pete's elderly parents with us on our next trip and his mum loves musicals by Rodgers and Hammerstein. As it's an hour and a half drive from our villa, we are a bit hestitant if it's not rated much.

If this is the one on Edgewater Drive, I have not been there myself, but relatives from Danville have a few years ago. They thought that it was was very good. Their opinion was that the atmosphere, show and food were all better than the dinner shows in and around Orlando-Kissimmee at a price that was only slightly higher.

Having had a look on the web it is in Edgewater Drive but it said it was closed? It is up in Winter Park and costs between $35-$49.

In that case, it must be worth a day's trip. Winter Park is superb and you can easily spend the day strolling through its parks and gardens, browsing the exclusive shops, looking at the galleries and taking the scenic boat trip. Then you can cap it all by the Dinner Theatre in the evening.

Yes, it is or was in Edgewater Drive. I happened to see it mentioned in an Orlando Travel Guide. Not sure when the book was printed though. I shall have to investigate further as Nostromos comments were encouraging. Thanks for the info.

I have been trying to find out more about this dinner show as it appeals to me. However, I have found out that it changed it's name to Orlando Broadway Dinner Theater last year, following a change of ownership. Unfortunately, I think Paul may be right in that it has sinced closed as the website for it appears to be no longer available.

I think we are talking about the same thing. The Mark Two Dinner Theater is situated on the part of Edgewater Drive that is quite close to WInter Park and so it is quite feasble to go to WP first for the day and visit the theater in the evening.

This is from a dining out in Orlando site I came across about the Orlando Broadway Dinner Theater at 3376 Edgewater Drive:

"As of this page's last publication on February 21,2005, our records indicate that this business has ceased operations"

I have tried the telephone number given for the theatre a few times and there is no answer.

Upon searching further, I came across a website :
NEW Mark Two (Orlando Broadway) Dinner Theater
Located north of downtown Orlando, The NEW Mark Two Dinner Theater, which will officially become The Orlando Dinner Theater on Jan. 14, 2004, presents Broadway musicals and comedies to audiences all year long. Each show runs from six to seven weeks with eight different mainstage shows playing throughout the year.
The dinner aspect of the dinner theater experience has been brought to new heights and includes a new salad bar with more than 20 different fresh salad items. Hand-carved prime rib continues to star on the buffet, along with ham, fish, and chicken, fresh-steamed vegetables and other homemade side dishes.
The Orlando Broadway Dinner Theater is located at 3376 Edgewater Drive in the College Park section of Orlando. For more information, guests can visit www.OrlandoBroadway.com or by phoning (407) 843-6275 or (800) 726-6275.

I tried ringing them but no reply. I tried a tourist centre in Orlando and they said that the New Mark Two Dinner Theater was still up and running??? I shall try ringing direct again later.
